Meet Mim

Hi I’m Miriam, or ‘Mim’ for short and welcome to Organisation Mimspiration!

With a background in Chaplaincy, freelance journalism and 25+ years living with myositis & more, my mission is to be raw and real about the social, emotional and practical aspects of chronic illness and disability.

Through connection, curiosity and continuing chronic conversations, I hope to consolidate and communicate the collective challenges of chronic communities, create engaging content to empower, equip and encourage and contribute to cultivating increased care and compassion in our characters, communities, cultures and beyond!

I hope you’ll find a little mimspiration!

Creating Certainty & Control

While most mums were nagging their teenagers to tidy their rooms, my mum found great amusement in messing mine up instead! I love sharing my organisation tips and tricks, to create certainty and control to counteract the unpredictability chronic illness and disability can often bring. So whether it’s health related, home organisation or organising the many thoughts in my head, I hope you’ll find some organisation mimspiration!

Chronic Illness & Disability

The path of chronic illness is very uncomfortable and unpredictable at times, but I’ve found helpful ways to navigate it. Here I’ll share how I’ve coped both practically and emotionally over the past 25+ years living with multiple chronic illnesses (Juvenile Dermatomyositis JDM, Secondary Addison’s/Adrenal Insufficiency & more) through many seasons of life, from childhood to now parenting my own children. I hope you’ll feel more empowered, equipped and encouraged and perhaps even be mimspired with some fresh ideas to make your life that little bit easier!

Creativity & Colour

Whether it be pens, piano or paintbrushes, here I’ll share that when other doors were closed, how I discovered new passions and purpose. I’ll share how my creativity unfolded, how journaling became journalism and how I found colour in my life again when I became involved with the inspiring Seed Stones art ministry as a teenager. I hope through sharing, you’ll find some mimspiration in your own creative ventures!

Children & Changing Capacity

My two little miracles are growing and changing ever so quickly, so being intentional about how I use my precious limited energy has been essential in fast-paced family life. I hope to share some of the routines and systems that help organise and make family life that little bit easier – leaving energy to focus on what really matters!

Continuing Conversations & Creating Change

Whether it be contributing to communities, committees, courses, or chats over coffee – whatever the capacity, I hope we can continue to collectively contribute to crucial chronic conversations and calls to action, to create further change in the chronic illness and disability space in our characters, communities, cultures and beyond!

Creating Chronic Content Mimspiration Blog

I’m here for all the chronic illness and disability conversations and hope to create content that you can connect with.

If there’s something specific you think would be of value for me to possibly write about in the future, I would love to hear from you!
